Harris Beach

Acrylic on stretched canvas 30 x 30 cm

The beaches on Harris are breathtaking. My first experience of the beach at Luskentyre was in the evening, and walking over the dunes to be confronted with luminous apricot sand, a vivid turquoise sea, and purple mountains of Taransay beyound was quite amazing.

I haven't yet had the courage to try and capture that impression, but here's a safer, broad daylight view of a Harris beach, with, as ever, clouds rolling in off the Atlantic.
